RISE – Day 36

RISE

Day Thirty-six – Today is day thirty-six. It is day thirty-six of our transformation and change toward better…toward more spiritual. It may be small or it may be large, but we are changing. Others have done through this to varying degrees and can be of help, if we are willing to ask. That is what we want to focus on today. If you have seen changes in the lives of others that seem both positive and beneficial then why not go them and have a conversation.

Paul talks about something like this in Hebrews, when he reminds us that there is a “great cloud of witnesses” that have run the race of faith. Paul himself said that he “finished the course” and “kept the faith.” We can gain from His experience by reading The Bible, but we have others who are still with us that are spiritually mature and can help…if we will but ask for it.

Now, it may not seem like a comfortable thing to do, but realize as well that most of these folks would love a chance to share and will be greatly encouraged as well by the conversation. Do you remember that saying, “The way of the fool seems right in his own eyes?” Sure you do! Most Christians can quote it and do in the context of saying something like we ought to depend on God, not our own thinking. Yet, how many of us realize that the verse has a second half. It is a Proverb (12:15). The second half of the verse says, “But the wise man listens to advice” (ESV).

Today is day thirty-six. It is a time for you to deliberately seek advice and wise counsel. God Bless.
