RISE
Day Forty-two – Today is day Forty-two. Today we want to talk a little bit about finding the peace of God. Your transformation will have its tumultuous moments and you may, as we mentioned yesterday, feel like you are constantly giving defense for your faith, but you need to know and come to the peace of Christ. To fully understand this we must understand the notion of “shalom.”
Shalom was not just a greeting, as many would use it today. Neither does the word simply mean “peace.” Instead, we must understand that it is a peace that is unshaken and persistent no matter what happens because it is anchored in the salvation offered by Christ. When our faith and our trust is strong…when our love for him is mature…then His peace fills us and carries us through.
It is for this reason that Christians are not only called to “live peaceably with all men,” but live out a peace that “passes all understanding.” Why do many not understand? Well, because they don’t understand what it means to live for Christ. They don’t understand what it means trust fully in Him. They don’t understand how He can fill us and bring a calm in the midst of turmoil.
Today is day forty-two. Do you have that kind of peace. Maybe you are not fully there. Maybe you have many cares and worries that seems to trouble you. Keep pushing on. Keep growing and moving forward in Christ and it will come. By faith we let him in and by faith He can bring a fullness of calming.
